I like words, but not too many of them. And not too fancy.

I like them to work hard and seem easy. I like them to be direct unless the detour is worth taking. But mostly, I just like them.

Ideas are swell too.

Especially dumb ones that grow up to be smart and the gregarious ones that arrive in swarms.

And work should be fun.

So, after trying journalism and marketing, I got a master's in advertising and became a copywriter. It's sometimes hard, but we laugh a lot.

But there's more than work.

What else makes me happy? Urban hikes, breakfast with The New York Times print edition, travel, spicy food, Fiestaware, classic gin cocktails, and yoga.
